DEAR STUDENTS,
What crazy and exciting times we live in.

With the dramatic evolution of tools and technology, it’s becoming incomparably easy for anyone to makea sexy portfolio site, a quick visual or video to showcase your idea,3D printing that broken handle, or making an app just for your friends.
And the best part is that this has nothing to do with your academic background, your major, your test scores or what sports you play.

Prototyping School is a place for you to
equip yourself with all sorts of knowledge and
technique in bringing your idea to life.

We want you to go out there, and start making an actual difference to all those problems out there, big or small.
What the world needs now are do-ers, not talkers.
"MAKE" A DIFFERENCE.
At Prototyping School, we will spend 12 weeks making all sorts of tangible prototypes that can solve problems within your 10m radius. Functional apps, IoT devices, 3D prints, videos. As a result, you will have a different perspective of the world, along with a portfolio that proves your unmatched proactiveness as a do-er, and make you stand out in your job hunting, career and beyond.

We are still looking for a warehouse, so in the meantime we will be using our studio in Omotesando.
GIF for authenticity
We are not teachers. We are designers that work on projects on a daily basis.
2-3 IDEO designers will constantly support your prototyping by your side.
GIF of flat culture
Everyone is equal when it comes to making something.
It doesn't matter how old you are or what your major is. Just make.

ABOUT HIRING SUPPORT
When we launched this website we initially imagined Prototyping School as a hiring platform, but after months of research and consideration we decided that doing so would go against our philosophy of empowering youth. While we will still be inviting HR and Talent people to the Demo Day, we will not be involved in supporting the hiring of PS graduates.

FAQ
Do I have to attend all 12 days?
Yes, all participants are expected to attend all 12 days on-site. However, we are flexible so please reach out to us if you have any concerns.
Does Prototyping School require design or engineering experience?
No, quite the contrary. Prototyping School is a place to empower non-design / non-engineering students through the ability to make.
How much time commitment is required outside of class hours?
What our 2 hours per week can provide is the introduction to tools and techniques, and a hands on session to put it to use. To truly embed the prototyping mindset to your daily life, you will have to be prepared to use the remainder of the week to continue to use and practice those tools and techniques.
Can I take the classes online?
We plan to offer online classes once we start to get the hang of it, but until then we will not be offering online participation options.
How does the payment work?
After we receive your applications, we will send out a Peatix event page to those that passed the selection process. Once you have completed the payment, your participation to Prototyping School will be officially confirmed. Please see Peatix's website for the type of payments they accept.
